Character For thousands of years, men and women have realized the importance of having a good character, a good education, and a goal for our future. At ECMS, we firmly believe that “Every Child Must Succeed”. In order to succeed one needs more than an education and more than a goal. One needs a strong positive character. Character includes thinking, feeling, and behavior. It is one of our goals to offer the basic principles of character to our students, by introducing them to very powerful yet simple words of character each month. Each of these are words that can be used as a part of their life at school, home and in the community. By incorporating these characteristic traits, we will make life better at school, at home and in the community. Traits Time Period Self-Control Aug. 16th - Sept.155th Responsibility Sept. 16th - Oct. 15th Integrity Oct. 16th - Nov. 15th Citizenship Nov. 16th - Dec. 15th Compassion Dec. 16th - Jan. 15th Gratitude Jan. 16th - Feb. 15th Courage Feb. 16th - Mar 15th Self-Discipline Mar. 16th - Apr. 15th Positive Attitude Apr 16th - May 15th Good Sportsmanship May 16th - Ma 15th Commitment June 16th - July 15th Cooperation July 16th - Aug 15th
I will be sending this list home by your child. Please post this at a convenient place so that you can discuss the importance of character with your child on a daily basis while you are discussing things that went on in their daily life. Events: PSAT consent forms need to be turned in to me by September 14th.
